Supersized Osama

Spurlock is the man.

Could it be? Has U.S. documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, pictured, found the world's most wanted man?

Rumours are flying around the Web that the Super Size Me director has located and interviewed terrorist Osama bin Laden for his upcoming film,
Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden?

MSNBC reports that the speculation first began at the Berlin International Film Festival in February, when Spurlock showed a group of film buyers 15 minutes of footage. The film, which is scheduled to debut at next year's Sundance Film Festival, chronicles the filmmaker's trek throughout the Mideast in search of the sought-after al-Qaeda leader.

Adding fuel to the fire are reports from various movie blogs that the Weinstein brothers paid $25-million for the film based on the footage Spurlock unspooled.

MSNBC also quotes Daniel Marracino, the film's director of photography, as telling Variety magazine that the film has "got the Holy Grail."

Meanwhile, Britain's Guardian Unlimited offers a bit of rumour relief, while simultaneously awarding top marks to Spurlock's publicist. The New York Times also throws a much-needed splash of cold water on the story.
